Marching Band

The “Gahr Marching Gladiators” are Gahr High School's award-winning marching band that travels and competes throughout Southern California. The Gahr Marching Gladiators are the largest and most visible group on campus, and is comprised of young musicians and dancers that share a passion for performing and strive for excellence. We’re gearing up for an exciting and fun-filled year and want you to be a part of it!

BAND CAMP

All band, percussion, and color guard members must attend summer band camp to be admitted into the field show for the fall semester. We perform shortly after the school year starts, and it is very difficult to catch up after missing 100 hours of instruction!

All students must bring a 1-gallon water jug and wear a hat, tennis shoes, and athletic clothing. Students without these items will be sent home for safety reasons. The Gahr Marching Gladiators run on time, so arrive early with all necessary materials.

Student Donations

Each student in the program is asked to contribute $675 for the fall season. This pays for operating expenses, including instructional staff, production costs, tournament fees, costumes, uniforms, and much, much more. Specialized instruction inspires students to keep at it, a skill they can apply to their other classes. This donation can be paid all at once, or can be broken down into a payment schedule.

We accept checks payable to "Gahr Band Boosters," cash, or you can make a donation online.

Ensemble Placements

All new/incoming band students are automatically a part of the Concert Band. New students may also enroll in Jazz Ensemble II (sax, trumpet, trombone, drum set, piano, guitar, bass).

Students must be in the Gahr Instrumental Music Program for a minimum of one (1) year to be eligible to audition for the Wind Ensemble and/or Jazz Ensemble I. Auditions/placement for the upper level ensembles are held at the end of the previous year.
