If you had anyone purchase candy through the original “booster” link, please contact Mrs. Castro so we can credit your account - juliacruz11@hotmail.com. Thank you so much to everyone who brought in eWaste so far. Our eWaste Recycling Drive continues Sunday 3/21 at Gahr High School from 9AM-3PM!

After you find out your cohort group on Thursday, March 25th, you have until the next day, Friday, March 26th at 6:00PM to accept hybrid learning. Please watch this video from Mr. Loney, the “Safely Reopening Schools” webinar from Dr. Lois, and read the information from ABCUSD so you can make the best decision for your son or daughter. ON-CAMPUS PRACTICE! 🎺🥁🏳
Now that cases in L.A. County have decreased, we are allowed to hold larger outdoor practices (while still wearing masks and social distancing). After spring break, will be looking at extending our in-person 7th period Marching Band class on either Monday or Thursday. The great news is that whether you choose hybrid or not, all students have the option to come on campus after lunch for band or color guard practice. Our instructors are excited to return to in-person training to put some sort of performance together for the remainder of the year and begin training for our upcoming marching season!
ABCUSD has begun the process of ordering one musician face mask and one bell/instrument cover per wind player. However, it is highly recommended to purchase your own band PPE so that you will have it in time for our first on-campus rehearsal. This is a list of Band PPE with links to a variety of companies. Please note that flutes have a specially designed mask to be able to play. Since putting this list together, some companies now offer bell covers with a MERV 13 Filter, and there is also some research that woodwind bell covers are a good alternative to the “bag” instrument covers.
