Awesome work this past weekend Jazz Ensemble I & II, Indoor Percussion, and Winter Guard! We have a big week ahead with Wind Ensemble performing at the CSUF Festival of Winds on Friday and Winter Guard and Indoor Percussion at competitions on Saturday. Keep up the great work!!
🎶 Jazz I & II kicked off their festival season at the Mayfair “Blue Dragon” Jazz Festival, with both ensembles earning 1st place in their divisions! A special shoutout to Vincent McIntosh, who received the prestigious John Aiken Outstanding Jazz Soloist Award!
🏆 Winter Guard traveled to the WGI San Diego Regional, where they took 1st place in Scholastic Open at both Prelims and Finals!
Thank you to all the incredible parent support and to our amazing instructors for all their hard work. Way to represent our program – and Go Gahr!

FUNDRAISER WITH HABIT BURGER – MONDAY 2/24
Our fundraiser with Habit Burger is Monday, February 24, anytime from 4-9PM, at 11257 183rd St. Cerritos, CA 90703. Let’s raise some funds one charburger at a time! WIND ENSEMBLE AT CSUF FESTIVAL OF WINDS – THIS FRIDAY 2/28
This Friday, the Wind Ensemble will be performing at the CSUF Festival of Winds! This is a super important week to put everything together and we need 100% attendance in order to be successful. Make sure you’re listening to recordings and practicing DAILY.
We have a few extra rehearsals to finish preparing our music for the performance:
Tue 2/25 – Wind Ensemble rehearsal 3:30-6:15PM
Wed 2/26 – Wind Ensemble “Sheltering Sky” rehearsal 3:30-4:30PM
Thu 2/27 – Wind Ensemble final rehearsal/run-through 3:30-6:30PM
(We will have an “open rehearsal” from 5:00-6:30PM as part of VAPA/CTE Multimedia Festival)
Schedule for CSUF Festival of Winds on Friday:
Arrive to school already dressed in ALL BLACK CONCERT ATTIRE.
Make sure you eat a good breakfast, hydrate, and BRING MONEY FOR DINNER.
11:43AM Meet in Band Room (4th period) and do run-through
12:30PM Load buses
12:45PM Depart for Meng Concert Hall at CSUF – 800 N State College Blvd, Fullerton, CA 92831
1:15PM Arrival time / Unload ASAP / Put instruments in storage room
1:30PM Eat pizza for lunch (provided)
2:30PM Watch bands
3:30PM Get equipment
4:00PM Warm Up
4:30PM Performance Time
5:00PM Clinic (on stage)
5:30PM Put away equipment ASAP
5:45PM Watch CSUF Wind Symphony!
7:30PM Get equipment from storage room / Walk to bus
7:45PM Depart for In-N-Out – 825 W Chapman Ave, Placentia, CA 92870
8:00PM Eat dinner at In-N-Out – BRING MONEY
8:45PM Return to Gahr HS
9:15PM Arrive at Gahr / Unload ASAP
