VIRTUAL ENSEMBLE EXPERIENCE REGISTRATION 🎧

We are excited to launch our “Virtual Ensemble Experience” portal! THIS PROJECT WILL SERVE AS YOUR FINAL FOR YOUR BAND CLASS. All wind and percussion students must register by Friday, May 15th, using this link before they proceed into the portal:

Once you’ve registered, download your music and begin practicing using the click track. We have virtual band rehearsals on Tuesday, May 21st and Thursday, May 26th, both from 1-2PM. We will be chunking through the music, so you will need to have your instrument and music for these rehearsals. If you do not have an instrument, please email Mr. Loney ASAP so he can make arrangements to get one to you - darren.loney@abcusd.us. This should be a fun and exciting project!

 

AWARDS BANQUET CHECKLIST ✅

We need your help to make our virtual awards banquet a success. Please make sure you have completed the following checklist.

  1. STUDENT-VOTED AWARDS - Please vote for students in the ensembles you participated in this year. The deadline to vote for student awards is this Saturday, May 16th.

  2. SENIOR STOLES & PHOTOS - If you are a senior and have not filed out this form, please take literally one minute and do this now. Mr. Loney cannot complete your senior slideshow without this.

  3. SENIOR ROAST - Do you have any funny stories or ideas for the Senior Roast? We want to have a memorable send-off for your Class of 2020! No matter how small it is, please email it to Mr. Loney - darren.loney@abcusd.us.

  4. LEADERSHIP APPLICATIONS DUE FRIDAY - Student leadership is open to any current freshmen, sophomores, or juniors. In addition to Drum Major, Color Guard Captain, Battery Captain, and Front Ensemble Captain, we are adding section leaders for: Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, High Brass, and Low Brass. All applications are due Friday, May 15th. Leadership interviews will take place via Zoom on Monday, May 18th and Tuesday, May 19th from 1-5PM both days.

  5. PHOTO & VIDEO SUBMISSIONS - We’re looking for your best photos from the Hawaii trip and this past school year! We’re especially looking for pictures from Winter Drumline and Winter Guard season. The deadline for submissions is this Saturday, May 16th.

SENIOR “STAR-SPANGLED BANNER” VIDEO DUE 5/17 🇺🇸

We need all band seniors to record themselves playing the Star-Spangled Banner for the Gahr High School Graduation Ceremony! Please use headphones to hear the attached YouTube video with click track to get the timing as precise as possible (especially for releases). We're going to need to cover ALL THE PARTS with the seniors we have! Some of you will have to record multiple parts. We want everyone represented and for this to sound really good for the graduation ceremony.

 

2020 BAND REGISTRATION FORM 📝

All incoming and returning members of the Gahr Marching Gladiators need to fill out the “2020 Band Registration Form.” This replaces many of the band camp forms and will cut down on paperwork. There is a link to the 2020-21 Handbook in the form. Thank you for helping us get off to a good start!
