The Gahr Area Concert is this Wednesday 5/18 at 6:30PM in the Gahr HS Gym! It’s been nearly three years since the last one, and we’re so excited to once again host Ross, Haskell, Tetzlaff, and our elementary bands. We've got a fun evening planned, including music from Encanto and the new Spider-Man movies!
Admission is FREE – but you can support the music program by buying raffle tickets for gift baskets featuring Knott's Berry Farm passes, Universal Studios SEASON PASSES, and a brand new Keurig coffee maker! We’ll also have snacks, drinks, and merchandise available for purchase too. THE DEADLINE TO PURCHASE RAFFLE TICKETS IS THIS WEDNESDAY AT THE AREA CONCERT. STUDENTS: We have two final rehearsals to prepare for the Area Concert: This Monday from 3-5:30PM and Tuesday from 3-5:30PM. Attendance is required at these rehearsals to participate in the performance. Make sure you keep practicing your music and have your all black concert attire ready so you look good. Call time on Wednesday is 5:00PM in the Band Room.
Thank you so much to everyone who supported the program by eating at Chipotle last Tuesday! The Color Guard wrapped up a successful two weeks of clinics with lots of new members! If you're a percussionist, join us on Tuesday, May 31st from 3:30-5:30PM for a Drumline clinic where you can try out for the battery and front ensemble. Remember, no experience is necessary – so bring a friend!!

STUDENT LEADERSHIP APPLICATIONS — We’re looking for students who are interested in being a part of our 2022-23 Leadership Team! All applications must be completed and turned in by Wednesday, May 25, 2022. Please be prompt and professional with your application. If selected, leadership interviews will take place in the Band Room on Friday, May 27 beginning at 3:00PM. DRUMLINE & GUARD RECRUITING — We would like to take a group to our feeder middle schools next Tuesday 5/24 and Thursday 5/26 during our block 6th period. Our lunch starts at 12:05PM and their lunches start at 12:30PM. We are in need of parents who would be able to carpool the students and equipment on these days. After the gig, it would be great to take the students through a drive-through so they’re able to eat something for lunch. Please let Mr. Loney know if you are available to help out so we can make this happen! STUDENTS: Wear your 2021 field show t-shirt and jeans.

We are thrilled to announce that we will be traveling to perform in Hawaii next summer!! The trip includes accommodations for 6 days and 5 nights, a performance at the USS Missouri in Pearl Harbor, a clinic at the University of Hawaii, a visit to Diamond Head State Monument, dolphin and snorkeling, a luau, and more! This will be the TENTH TIME that Gahr has traveled to Hawaii, and it is always one of the most memorable parts of being in the band program.

PARENT/STUDENT MEETING 6/1 — There is a Parent/Student Meeting on Wednesday, June 1st at 6:30PM in the Gahr HS Band Room for all new AND returning students. We will be going through important information concerning our upcoming summer rehearsals, the 2022-23 school year, and the Hawaii trip next year. Remember we can still recruiting new members, and no experience is necessary! As long as they work hard and have a positive attitude, we can teach them everything they need to know to be successful.

BAND & COLOR GUARD WORKSHOPS 6/14-16 — Band & Color Guard Workshops are June 14-16th for all new and returning members from 4-8PM each day. Attendance at these workshops is mandatory and reserves your spot in our 2022 field show production. Please note that due to Measure BB campus construction, workshops will be held at Ross Middle School. We will have more information at the Parent/Student Meeting.
