HOME FOOTBALL GAME AND SATURDAY PRACTICE

WE HAVE ANOTHER BUSY WEEK WITH A FIELD SHOW COMMITTEE MEETING ON WEDNESDAY AT 6:30PM, OUR FIRST HOME FOOTBALL GAME AT GAHR, AND AN IMPORTANT SATURDAY REHEARSAL FROM 1-5PM. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!

Congratulations again on a strong performance at the Mayfair Field Tournament! Thank you to everyone who came to last Wednesday’s Booster Meeting and who supported the program on Thursday by eating at Frantone’s. And great job pep band and drumline at last Thursday’s away football game!!

PARENTS: On Friday we will be providing the students an early dinner, selling concessions and merch at the game, and helping push equipment and props for the half-time show. Please use this Sign Up Genius link to volunteer:

STUDENTS: We are moving on to Movement 2 and 3 this week. Keep practicing before school, at break and lunch, and after school so we can continue to make progress learning the show. We have an important rehearsal this Saturday 10/15 from 1-5PM. We will not be serving any food because it’s just a one-block rehearsal, so eat lunch before you arrive. Please make sure you’re continuing to stay hydrated, eat during the day, and stay on top of your school work.

HOME FOOTBALL GAME & SENIOR NIGHT THIS FRIDAY 10/14

We have our first Home Football Game at Gahr High School this Friday 10/14! It is also “Senior Night” at 6:20PM where the school recognizes the students in football, cheer, and band – and seniors are typically escorted by parents/guardians as their name is called.

WINDS: WE WILL HAVE A PEP TUNE REHEARSAL ON FRIDAY MORNING AT 7:30AM, so bring your flip folder and lyre! Make sure you also review the Star-Spangled Banner to be played before the stadium ribbon cutting.

ALL STUDENTS: We will have a short rehearsal and run-through after school on the practice field until approximately 4:15PM. Students will then need to push equipment and props to the stadium. Parents will be feeding the students dinner (chicken sandwiches) at 4:30PM. At 5:15PM, band will be changing into FULL UNIFORM — so make sure you bring your black sleeveless compression top, black compression shorts, long black socks, and your black marching shoes. Color Guard students need to bring everything for full costume/hair/make up. We will run pep tunes and cadences at 5:30PM, then head into the stadium to support our band and color guard seniors for SENIOR NIGHT!

At approximately 6:20PM, seniors will be called onto the track to be recognized and escorted by their parents/guardians. After that, we will play the National Anthem, and then there will be a ceremony/ribbon cutting for the new stadium field. The game will begin like normal at 7:00PM. We need parent help at the game to sell concessions, merch, and to help push equipment/props at halftime. Please click here to sign up to volunteer.

MIDDLE SCHOOL BAND NIGHT NEXT FRIDAY 10/21

“Middle School Band Night” is next Friday, October 21st! We will have a short rehearsal and run-through after school, dinner break, then students will change into full uniform. Bring your black sleeveless compression shirt, black compression shorts, long black socks, and black marching shoes. Middle schoolers check in at 5:15PM at the Gahr High School Band Room. We’ll have sectionals and a short rehearsal, followed by our FREE "Show & Tell" performance at 7:00PM in the stadium! If you know any band or color guard students in middle school, please share this link with them to sign up:
