PARENTS: We would like to thank everyone who helped this past week with the bands at SCSBOA Festival, JV Guard at El Toro, and Indoor Drumline at the WGI Power Regional. Special thanks to the AMAZING PARENTS who drove back early to Gahr to unload all of the equipment and props so that the students would not have to. Thank you to everyone who ate at Chipotle and who came to our WGASC Show Host Committee Meeting last Wednesday! WE’RE ONLY 14 DAYS AWAY FROM HOSTING OUR FIRST WINTER GUARD COMPETITION!!!

We have a mandatory WGASC Walk-Through this Tuesday at 7:00PM in the Gahr High School Gym. We will be splitting into volunteer areas and doing the final planning for the upcoming winter guard competition we are hosting on Sunday, April 7th. This is a huge undertaking and we need everyone’s help in the program to make this event successful. If you have not signed up for a shift yet, PLEASE SIGN UP HERE!

Congratulations to Gahr High School on a UNANIMOUS SUPERIOR rating at SCSBOA Band & Orchestra Festival! Both the Concert Band and Wind Ensemble earned a “SUPERIOR” rating (the highest score attainable) by all four judges, including sight-reading. We would also like to congratulate Mr. Lopez and Ross Middle School on earning a Unanimous Superior as well! SAVE THE DATE: Gahr High School will be advancing to SCSBOA Regional Festival at Kennedy HS on April 25, 2024!

ABCUSD JAZZ SHOWCASE THIS WEDNESDAY 3/27

The ABCUSD Jazz Showcase is Wednesday, March 27th in the Artesia High School Gym starting at 5:30PM! Hear all of the middle school and high school jazz bands in the ABC Unified School District. Gahr’s Jazz B will be performing at 7:30PM and Jazz A performs at 7:45PM. This showcase is FREE and open to the public.

DRUMLINE & GUARD SPRING SHOWCASE THIS THURSDAY 3/28

The 4th annual ABCUSD Drumline & Guard Spring Showcase is Thursday, March 28th in the Gahr HS Gym! If you've never seen drums or flags in a gym, you will definitely want to check this out! Doors open at 6:00PM and the first group performs at 6:30PM. This event is FREE and open to the public! Please bring money for concessions and merchandise.

WORKMAN JAZZ FESTIVAL THIS FRIDAY 3/29

This Friday, March 29th, both Jazz A and B will be participating in the Workman Jazz Festival at Workman HS! Call time is 12:15PM at Gahr HS for rehearsal. Eat a big meal before you arrive and bring money for concessions at the festival. Make sure you keep practicing all four tunes DAILY. We need 100% on time attendance at all rehearsals so we can be successful. We will have rehearsal this Monday from 3:30-5:30PM as well as Wednesday morning from 7:30-8:20AM.
