BAND CAMP KICK-OFF MEETING TODAY @ 7PM! 🏟

Our last weekly summer rehearsal is TODAY from 5-7PM for all sections (including battery). Please bring your Popcornopolis order form and money to turn in before practice (minimum 8 bags sold). We are ending rehearsal early today for a mandatory, in-person, Band Camp Kick-Off Meeting at 7PM in the Gahr HS Stadium. This is for all students and parents, and will cover important information for Band Camp, the upcoming marching season, and the Gahr Invitational Field Tournament. We will also have the Band Camp lunch menu, a calendar with important dates for the fall semester, and volunteer sign up tables.

BAND CAMP FOR PERCUSSION STARTS NEXT WEEK! 🥁

Following our last weekly, summer practice, we will begin having all-day camps to learn our 2021 field show production. Please make sure you’ve read all the information in the Band Camp Newsletter. A typical rehearsal day is from 8:30AM to 5:00PM with an hour lunch from 12-1PM. Lunch from the boosters is available for just $5 each day, and we will distribute the lunch menu at the kick-off meeting. Make sure you hydrate at least 24 hours before, eat a good breakfast, bring a 1-gallon water jug, wear athletic shoes and clothing, a hat, and sunscreen.

PERCUSSION CAMP: July 26-30, 8:30AM-5PM each day (no winds or guard)
WINDS & GUARD CAMP: August 2-6, 8:30AM-5PM each day (no percussion)
BAND CAMP (EVERYONE): August 9-20, Mon-Fri, 8:30AM-5PM each day

ALL POPCORNOPOLIS ORDER FORMS & MONEY ARE DUE TODAY, JULY 20TH. EACH STUDENT MUST SELL A MINIMUM OF EIGHT (8) BAGS OF POPCORNOPOLIS. All profit from bags sold thereafter (50% of the cost) goes to students’ accounts. As a bonus, the student who sells the most Popcornopolis will win a $50 Visa Gift Card! If you prefer to opt-out of this fundraiser, please turn $35. We accept cash, checks made to “Gahr Band Boosters,” or click here to pay online.

MARCHING BAND ORDER FORMS DUE 8/10 ✅

Congratulations on being a member of the 2021 Gahr Marching Gladiators! There are several required items depending if you are in the band or the color guard. Many of these items should be a one-time purchase that can be reused year after year. If you are in the winds or percussion sections, you will need a Gahr Marching Gladiators Hoodie, a Band Polo Shirt, and Black Drillmasters Marching Shoes. If you are in the color guard, you will need all of the items listed on the color guard order form. Please click below to download and print the correct order form. All order forms and money are due by Tuesday, August 10th to receive in time for our first competition.

ATHLETIC CLEARANCE THROUGH FAMILY ID 🩺

All new and returning students must complete their athletic clearance to be admitted into the band or color guard by July 23rd. You will also have the option to pre-pay the ASB and Transportation Fee. Here are the steps:

1. Get a physical exam. You need to bring a print out of Gahr’s Physical Evaluation Form for the doctor to fill out. It is highly recommend to use a walk-in clinic instead of scheduling this with your primary care physician. Most walk-in clinics cost around $20 and take about 5-10 minutes to complete.

BAND CAMP DONATION

In order to pay for our summer instructors and field show materials, there is a $150 Band Camp Deposit due next month at Band Camp. We are unable to run the Band Camp without these funds. If you have difficulty making this donation, please speak to Mr. Loney ASAP. We accept cash, checks payable to "Gahr Band Boosters," or you can pay online (click the drop down and choose "Donation #1").

TWO GREAT WAYS TO RAISE MONEY

  • Field Show Program Ads - Earn 90% of the profit from all field show ad sales. The ad prices range from $25 to $175. Many local businesses are looking for ways to advertise to the community. Ask Mr. Loney for a field show program booklet to help sell ads.

  • Student Sponsorship Letter - 100% of the money sponsorships goes directly to your student account. These take a few hours to complete and mail out, but the return on investment is HUGE if you can make $400-$500. Make sure to include a photo of your band or guard student! This is a great way your family and loved ones can help support.
