MANDATORY PARENT/STUDENT MEETING 12/2 👩‍💻

We have a MANDATORY Student/Parent Meeting this Wednesday 12/2 at 6:30PM via Zoom. We will also have administrators and instructional staff in attendance for this meeting. We will be discussing important information regarding on-campus practice, including detailed procedures and logistics for screening, temperature checks, masking, social distancing, and updates for a possible 2nd semester marching season. Even if you are unsure about whether or not you will be participating, this meeting is still required for all students, parents, and guardians. Once you have received all the information, we will be sending out a survey to help us gauge the interest level for pursuing on-campus practice and/or a competitive season.

⠀⠀⠀

Darren Loney is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.
Topic: Mandatory Parent/Student Meeting

SAVE THE DATE: The ABCUSD Digital Winter Concert will be Thursday, December 17th at 6:30PM via YouTube Premiere! This exciting concert will feature musicians from every high school, middle school, and many elementary schools in our district. Tomorrow we will begin working on the new holiday music as a group. Make sure you’ve downloaded and printed your music from Google Classroom and are practicing DAILY with a metronome. Please check the timeline below for how we will prepare and be successful for this concert.

**ALL FINAL VIDEOS DUE WEDNESDAY 12/9**
Wear something fun and festive, or maybe an ugly sweater! Holiday/Santa hats are highly encouraged :)

⠀⠀⠀

Please keep in mind that in a normal year, we would have had a holiday parade march, 3-4 Wind Ensemble pieces, 4-5 Combined Band pieces, and 4-5 jazz band tunes. To perform all this, we would have had daily in-class rehearsals along with 2-3 hour after-school practices. The amount of additional time we’re asking for this year is EXTREMELY reasonable, and these rehearsals are REQUIRED to be part of the virtual performance. Thank you in advance for your help to make this the best performance possible!

⠀⠀⠀

SEMESTER DONATION OF $150 PAST DUE

The 1st semester donation of $150 for all students is past due. This has helped cover purchasing music and instructors (besides Mr. Loney). If you did not turn this in or you were a late addition to the music program, please help get this in ASAP. We want to make sure we’re able to pay for our instructional staff through the end of the semester and will also need funds as we prepare for a possible competitive season. Thank you!

KEEPSAKE PILLOW 🎵

pillow-front.jpg

Our marching band uniforms have been professionally transformed into beautiful, keepsake pillows for you to remember your time in the band! It’s a perfect gift for alumni.

  • Pillows are approximately 15” x 15”

  • Blind Zipper and Removable Fill

  • Pillows are currently in production, but due to demand with the company, will take much longer than expected. Pre-ordering now guarantees your spot in line as soon as they are available.

We will be moving the “GAHR” down a few inches and may be adding the gold braid to the side if possible. Please note that sizes may vary slightly due to various uniform sizes.

⠀⠀⠀

ATHLETIC CLEARANCE 🩺

At this point, all students should have completed a physical evaluation and registered on the Family ID website. Once you’re registered, download the “Physical Evaluation” form. Print out the form and take it with you so the physician can complete it during your physical exam. These are typically around $20, and they usually prefer cash. After you finish your physical, scan or take a picture of your paperwork and upload it to the Family ID website by clicking the button that says “Choose File.”
