THIS WEEK 4-3
Another incredible week for the Gahr Instrumental Music Program! On Thursday, the Concert Band and Wind Ensemble performed at the Southern California Band and Orchestra Association Festival at Santiago HS. Both groups earned a “Unanimous Superior” – the highest rating attainable by the adjudicators! Both bands also got a “Superior” for sight-reading. The Varsity Guard won 1st place at the WGASC Signature Show at Etiwanda and 1st place at the WGASC Competition at Woodbridge! The JV Guard has been making great progress and had great performances this weekend. Winter Drumline qualified for SCPA Finals and took 6th place overall in Scholastic World! Thank you so much to all the parents who volunteered this week and who helped set our students up for success. We look forward to seeing you on Monday for the ABC Jazz Showcase at 5:30PM at Artesia HS, on Wednesday at 6:30PM for our monthly Booster Parent Meeting, and on Friday at 6:30PM in Gahr HS Gym for our annual Drumline & Guard Spring Showcase!

FINAL DONATION DUE TOMORROW 4/3
The 4th and Final Payment for JV Guard, Varsity Guard, and Winter Drumline is due Monday, April 3. Between all three winter groups, we are currently negative $19,000. It is important that you pay off your remaining balance so that we are able to pay our instructors and for production costs. All students should have received a current statement from Mrs. Varney. ABCUSD JAZZ SHOWCASE – MONDAY 4/3
The ABC Jazz Showcase is Monday, April 3rd in the Artesia HS Gym! Each group will take turns playing a short set and students (and parents) are encouraged to listen to each other perform. Gahr performs at 7:00PM. This is just a district showcase – there is no clinic or awards. Bring money for tacos and concessions!

Please join us this Friday, April 7th at 6:30PM in the Gahr HS Gym for a FREE Spring Showcase featuring some of the indoor drumline and guard groups in ABCUSD! As a special treat, we will have a special performance by the Long Beach City College Viking Show Band. Bring money for concessions and merch. See you there!

ANNUAL GIFT BASKET RAFFLE!
It’s that time again! We’re asking for donations to put together our annual gift basket raffle!! This year we will have FIVE fantastic, themed baskets. The drawing will be at the Gahr Area Concert on Wednesday, May 17th. ALL BASKET ITEMS OR DONATIONS ARE DUE FRIDAY, APRIL 28TH. Thank you!
Each student is responsible for donating at least ONE basket item. The items will be put into themed gift baskets to raise money for the music program. PLEASE DONATE ONE ITEM BY YOUR STUDENT’S SECTION:

MANDATORY HAWAII MEETING 4/19!
SAVE THE DATE: We have a MANDATORY Hawaii Meeting for ALL trip participants on Wednesday, April 19th at 6:30PM in the Band Room. We will be finalizing the rooming lists for the trip, going through the packing list, and the summer rehearsals and send-off concert before the trip.
