NEXT STOP… VIRTUAL BAND CAMP!

***PLEASE READ ALL THE INFORMATION BELOW SO WE ARE ABLE TO GET OFF TO A SMOOTH START IN AUGUST. THANK YOU!***

Congratulations on another successful week of mini-camps! The instructional staff and student leaders nominated the following students for their exceptional participation across all three days. SAVE THE DATE: We will be having “Virtual Band Camp” Monday-Thursday, August 10-13th from 2-4PM each day. To clarify, this replaces our normal, in-person Band Camp. This will be an exciting week of shorter, online rehearsals with coaches for every section. If you haven’t participated in any online rehearsals yet, this is your last chance to be a part of the Gahr Instrumental Music Program!!

FALL 2020 STUDENT SURVEY! 🗳

STUDENTS: Please help us complete this anonymous survey that will give us feedback on the mini-camps and help shape this coming semester. It will also help Mr. Loney, the instructional staff, and the boosters provide the best experience possible, given the circumstances. Thank you in advance for your honest feedback!

BAND REGISTRATION AND PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT 📝

All new and returning members must fill out the 2020-21 “Band Registration and Participation Agreement” form. IF YOU HAVE NOT COMPLETED THIS FORM, YOU WILL NOT BE ENROLLED IN BAND, PERCUSSION, OR COLOR GUARD CLASSES!! Thank you to everyone who has already done this.

1ST SEMESTER DONATION DUE 8/3

The total student donation for the entire first semester is $150. Your donation helps pay for coaches, music, and materials. Specialized instruction inspires students to keep at it, a skill they can apply to their other classes.

The deadline for this donation is Monday, August 3rd. We accept checks made to "Gahr Band Boosters," cash, or you can make a payment online.

If you need to work out additional fundraisers or an alternative payment plan, please email Mr. Loney, Director of Bands, at darren.loney@abcusd.us. Your donation may be tax-deductible; please consult your accounting professional. Tax ID #45-4683974.

POPCORNOPOLIS UDPATE! 🍿

Great job on the Popcornopolis fundraiser! We sold a total of $8,500 in Popcornopolis!! Congratulations to our top seller and winner of the $50 Visa gift card — Tyus Munford — with $773 in sales!!! The profit (50% of the cost) from sales after the first 5 bags will be applied to student accounts, and can be put towards your $150 semester donation.

Popcornopolis is set to arrive at the Band Room sometime next week and we will let you know the pick up day/time once we have that information. Remember, it is your responsibility to distribute your orders to the people you sold to. This was a mandatory fundraiser, so if you did not sell any Popcornopolis, please turn in the minimum contribution of $25.

GET EXCITED!!

I am so impressed with the positive attitudes and perseverance of our students! While we may not be able to compete as we normally would, our vision and mission stand strong, regardless of the current circumstances. We will continue to have the highest of expectations for character and performance, and will be taking this time to learn, condition, and grow through these experiences. Our priority is to provide the best music education to our students, and as always, strive for the next level of excellence!
