We have a busy week of rehearsals for our concert groups, jazz band, as well as the beginning of Winter Drumline and Winter Guard! Please refer to the December calendar so you can stay on top of the new schedule. If you are interested in pre-ordering tamales in time for the holidays, the tamale order form and money are due in the drop box by this Wednesday, December 8th.

WINTER DRUMLINE — Thank you to all the students who came to last week’s Winter Drumline show reveal and interest meeting!! We had a HUGE turn out and are super excited about the upcoming season. STUDENTS MUST BE CAUGHT UP WITH FALL DONATIONS TO CONTINUE INTO THE WINTER SEASON SO WE CAN PAY FOR PRODUCTION COSTS, COSTUMES, AND COMPETITIONS. Our 2022 production is entitled, “All Around Us.” Click below to download the info sheet and check out the mp3s that were shared at the meeting. We have our first rehearsal for mallets, battery, and the wind soloists positions on Monday from 6th period to 5PM. We would like to see ALL students interested in joining on Wednesday evening from 5-8PM — including battery, cymbal line, added front ensemble positions. On Friday, December 17th, there is a mandatory Parent/Student Drumline Meeting at 5:30PM in the Band Room.

WINTER GUARD — Winter Guard WORKSHOPS are this Tuesday and Wednesday, December 7th and 8th from 3:30-5:30PM! Workshops are open to anyone and we’re looking at building on the success from this fall! There is a Winter Guard Parent/Student Meeting this Thursday, December 9th at 6:30PM in the Band Room where we’ll be going through all the exciting info about the 2022 indoor season. STUDENTS MUST BE CAUGHT UP WITH FALL DONATIONS TO CONTINUE INTO THE WINTER SEASON SO WE CAN PAY FOR PRODUCTION COSTS, COSTUMES, AND COMPETITIONS. Let Mr. Loney or John know if you have any questions.

HOLIDAY BAND CONCERT 12/16 — Our annual Holiday Band Concert is Thursday, December 16th at 6:00PM at the Gahr HS Rally Platform! This will be a festive, outdoor concert with performances from our Jazz Band, Combined Bands, and special guest - the Ross Middle School Band!! Admission is free. Folding chairs provided, but feel free to bring your own chairs and blankets.

REHEARSALS: Winds and percussionists continue after school rehearsals on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-5PM to prepare for this concert. This is a FAST turn around so make sure you practice your music SLOWLY and CORRECTLY so we can be successful. THERE ARE ONLY FOUR MORE REHEARSALS LEFT BEFORE THE CONCERT:

CONCERT ATTIRE: Concert attire is ALL BLACK — long-sleeved, solid black button-up dress shirt, tucked in with black belt, solid black dress pants, long black socks, and black dress shoes (or polished marching band shoes). Ladies may wear a long, black concert gown (below the knees - no skirts). Students may also wear Santa/holiday hats!

BAND & COLOR GUARD PHOTOS ONLINE — Your custom link for band and color guard photos should have been emailed to you last week. Please follow the instructions below to view and order your photos. Get FREE SHIPPING if you order your photos by December 8th! Remember, buddy photos are mailed to the person in your buddy group you listed, and it is their responsibility to hand a copy of each photo out to the other students in the photo.
