Congratulations to Henok Atsebeha and Rudy Colato on rehearsing and performing this past weekend in the SCSBOA Honor Band! Also, great job this past weekend Winter Drumline and Winter Guard!! Winter Drumline will be advancing to SCPA Championships this Saturday at the Toyota Arena! Winter Guard has continued to make huge improvements each week, and their next competition is Saturday, April 23rd at WGASC Championships at the UCI Bren Events Center. You can also see both groups for FREE this Thursday at the Drumline & Guard Spring Showcase at 6:00PM in the Gahr HS Gym!!
Thank you to everyone who supported the program this week by eating at Panera and Frostbites and to all the parents who came to Wednesday’s Booster Meeting!! Even though marching season is over, we still need your help and support as we gear up for our end-of-year performances, fundraisers, and the awards banquet. Our next meeting will be Wednesday, May 4th at 6:30PM in the Band Room and we look forward to seeing you there!!

WINTER DRUMLINE @ SCPA FINALS THIS SATURDAY 4/9 — CALL TIME IS 6:30AM — DO NOT BE LATE. We have an important rehearsal on Friday from 9AM-4PM to prepare. Make sure you eat a good breakfast, hydrate, and go to bed early the night before. ALL MEMBERS SHOULD BE CAUGHT UP WITH ALL DONATIONS AT THIS POINT (BALANCE OF $0). This is crucial so we are able to pay our instructors and for production costs. Retreat for Finals is a full retreat for all performing members. Masks are recommended for retreat. All those participating in retreat need to report to the floor folding area immediately following the last performance. Following the final score announcement, ensembles will be excused to leave the floor one at a time in reverse order of entry. There will be no distribution of medals on the floor or “breaking of ranks” this year. Instead, ensembles are encouraged to celebrate their accomplishments, distribute any medals earned, and take photos outside in Lot F.

ABC JAZZ SHOWCASE TUESDAY 4/12 — The ABC Jazz Showcase is tomorrow, Tuesday, April 12th at 6:00PM in the Artesia HS Gym! The last ABC “All Star” rehearsal is today, Monday 4/11 from 6-9PM. We will have zero period tomorrow as well as a run-through from 3-4PM to finalize our set and solos. Call time is 6:00PM at Artesia HS for the showcase. Make sure you have your jazz concert attire ready and bring money for dinner.

DRUMLINE & GUARD SPRING SHOWCASE 4/14 — Please join us Thursday, April 14th at 6:00PM in the Gahr HS Gym for our annual Drumline & Guard Spring Showcase!! This is a FREE event to showcase the outstanding Winter Guards and Winter Drumlines in ABCUSD. Both Winter Guard and Winter Drumline students have a 4:30PM call time in full uniform to stage props and equipment, and will be warming up before the event starts.

JAZZ BAND “MUSIC IN THE PARKS” — On Friday, April 29th the Jazz Band will be performing in the “Music in the Parks” Festival! Students perform off-site at a festival and then go to Knott’s Berry farm for free time and the awards ceremony. We will meet 1st period in the Band Room (wear jazz concert attire and bring change of clothes). Bring money for an early lunch stop and a few meals in the park. Each student in the jazz band needs to turn in $75 to Mr. Loney to cover the festival and Knott’s ticket. If you have a Knott’s Season Pass, you only need to turn in $35 to pay for the festival portion. MONEY IS DUE TO MR. LONEY BY FRIDAY, APRIL 22ND AT OUR SPRING BREAK REHEARSAL.
