MARCHING BAND WORKSHOPS 6/13 & 6/15
Marching Band Workshops are this Tuesday and Thursday, June 13th and 15th from 5-8PM each day at the new Gahr High School Stadium! Workshops are MANDATORY for all students and are where your student will learn warm ups, basic training, and music/choreography for the field show. Please arrive by 4:30PM each day so we can check you in. On Thursday, we will end rehearsal with an ice cream social! 🍦

Things to bring:
Activity Participation Form — MUST BE TURNED IN OR SIGNED AT CHECK-IN
Water (1-gallon jug preferred) 💧
Hat (preferably something with a wide brim) 🧢
Instrument/sticks/flag if you have your own 🎷
Athletic shoes (no sandals or converse) 👟
Comfortable clothes (shorts & t-shirt) 👕
A sweatshirt or jacket in case it gets cold
3-ring binder and pencil (for winds & percussion) ✏️
A friend! (no experience is required) 😀

Thank you so much to everyone who came to Tuesday’s New Parent/Student Meeting. We had a great turn out and are gearing up for an awesome year! In case you missed the meeting, this is a copy of the slide deck information that was presented:
The band program uses “Remind” as our primary communication method for both students and parents. Please sign up below based on what grade you’re in:
PROGRAM DONATIONS
This year, the student contribution for the marching band is $675. This includes major items such as instructional staff throughout the year, equipment and instruments, production costs, music, costumes, and food. This specialized instruction inspires students to keep at it, a valuable skill they can apply to their other classes. This donation can be paid all at once, or broken down into the following payment schedule:
1st Donation $225 - Due Thursday, June 15, 2023
2nd Donation $150 - Due Friday, August 8, 2023
3rd Donation $150 - Due Friday, September 1, 2023
4th Donation $150 - Due Friday, October 1, 2023

DCI ROSE BOWL GROUP TICKET DEADLINE THURSDAY 6/15
On Saturday, July 8th, we will be carpooling to see drum corps LIVE at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena! This is an awesome experience and you’ll get to see some of the top professional marching groups in the country including Blue Devils, Mandarins, Blue Knights, and Pacific Crest. The deadline to get tickets at the group price of $25 per person is Thursday, June 15th. You can bring in cash to Mr. Loney or click here to pay online.

ATHLETIC CLEARANCE DUE 7/24
All students will need to complete their athletic clearance through FamilyID by July 24th:

Print this two-page form and take it with you to your physical. We will be having a physician coming from Anderson Chiropractic Care on Wednesday, June 21st from 12-3PM to do exams at the stadium. Please bring $20 CASH. Color Guard students can do their physical right after rehearsal at 1PM.
All students will also need to purchase an ASB card and pay for transportation, but you can get a discount if you wait to do this during Gahr High School registration.
