CONGRATS ON AN AWESOME YEAR!
THANK YOU to everyone who came to yesterday’s End-of-Year Awards Banquet! It was great to look back on all the fun memories and how much we accomplished this year. Thank you to Jerry Islas for putting together such wonderful slideshow videos. Thank you to our Banquet Committee, led by Mrs. Varney, who planned and executed the event flawlessly. Thank you to our 2022-23 Booster Board, Reps, and Chairs led by President, Mrs. Goncalves; Vice President, Mrs. Barcelos; Secretary, Aneiko Hickerson; and Treasurer, Gaby Dominguez, for their tireless commitment and dedication to our students and the band program. Thank you to staff members Mr. Lopez, Mr. Miller, and Ms. Kocour for helping throughout the evening with logistics and awards. A huge thank you to our incredible alumni parents (including Mrs. Walker who came all the way from Texas) who ran food at the banquet allowing our current parents to relax and enjoy the banquet! Thank you to our outgoing 2022-23 Student Leadership Team for all of their hard work throughout the school year that set up the program for success.
CONGRATULATIONS to our new 2023-24 Student Leadership Team; our new 2023-24 Booster Board, Reps, and Chairs; the senior Class of 2023; and ALL the students in the entire program for an amazing year!! We look forward to seeing our seniors at graduation this Thursday (remember to wear all your medals and your stole)
COMING UP — We have our New Student/Parent Meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, June 6th at 6:30PM in the Library where we’ll begin kicking off the 2023 season! If you know anyone who might be interested in joining, please have them come to the meeting! Band and Color Guard Workshops are Tuesday and Thursday, June 13th and 15th from 5-8PM at the Gahr High School stadium. The following week, we have a Color Guard Mini-Camp Monday-Thursday, June 19th-22nd from 9AM-1PM each day, also at the stadium (this will also incorporate the guard material and routine for the Hawaii trip). Finally, Band Camp will be July 24th-August 4th fro 8:30AM-5:00PM each day at the Gahr High School stadium. ALL CURRENT AND NEW STUDENTS NEED TO FILL OUT THIS DISTRICT WAIVER AND TURN INTO MR. LONEY TO BE ON CAMPUS DURING THE SUMMER FOR REHEARSALS.
HAWAII REHEARSALS & CONCERT — The Hawaii Band will have three rehearsals to finish preparing the music for our performances: Tuesday, June 20th (band only); Thursday, June 22nd (band only); and Saturday, June 24th (band & guard), all from 5:30-8:30PM at the Gahr High School Stadium. We will need Color Guard to combine for that last rehearsal on Saturday evening, June 24th. Please join us on Sunday, June 25th at 2:00PM for our Hawaii Send-Off Concert in the stadium.
DRUM CORPS AT THE ROSE BOWL — On Saturday, July 8th, a big group of us will be carpooling to see drum corps LIVE at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena! If you like watching marching bands, this will blow you away!! We usually have around 100+ students, parents, family, friends, and alumni who go. Group tickets are just $20/person. Please turn in cash to Mr. Loney ASAP or click here to pay online.
