MARCHING BAND WORKSHOPS 6/4 & 6/6
Marching Band Workshops are this Tuesday and Thursday, June 4th and 6th from 5-8PM each day in the Gahr High School Band Room! Workshops are MANDATORY for all new and returning students and are where your student will learn warm ups, basic training, and music/choreography for the field show. Please arrive by 4:30PM each day so we can check you in. On Thursday, we will end rehearsal with an ice cream social!
Things to bring:
- Water (1-gallon jug preferred) 💧
- Hat (preferably something with a wide brim) 🧢
- Instrument/sticks/flag (if you have your own) 🎺🥁🏳️
- Athletic shoes (no sandals or converse please) 👟
- Comfortable clothes (shorts & t-shirt) 👕🩳
- 3-ring binder and pencil (for winds & percussion) ✏️
- A friend! (no experience is required) 😄
- 1st Donation of $225 (due by 7/22)
If you have any friends who might be interested, bring them along too! No experience is necessary, and we have spots available for woodwinds, brass, drumline, and color guard. As long as they work hard and have a positive attitude, we will be able to teach them everything they need to know. We're gearing up for a fun and exciting year!

PROGRAM DONATIONS
The student contribution for the marching band is $675. This includes major items such as instructional staff throughout the year, equipment and instruments, production costs, music, costumes, and food. This specialized instruction inspires students to keep at it, a valuable skill they can apply to their other classes. This donation can be paid all at once, or broken down into the following payment schedule:
1st Donation $225 - Due Monday, July 22, 2024
2nd Donation $150 - Due Friday, August 16, 2024
3rd Donation $150 - Due Friday, September 20, 2024
4th Donation $150 - Due Friday, October 18, 2024

DCI “CORPS AT THE CREST” DEADLINE FRIDAY 6/7
On Friday, June 28th, we’re going to see drum corps LIVE at Mt. San Antonio College! This is an awesome experience and you’ll get to see some of the top professional marching groups in the country including the Blue Devils, Santa Clara Vanguard, the Mandarins, the Blue Knights, and Pacific Crest. If you like watching marching bands, this will blow you away!! The deadline to get tickets at the group price of $25 per person is Friday, June 7th. You can bring in cash to Mr. Loney or click here to pay online.
ATHLETIC CLEARANCE DUE 7/22
All students will need to complete their athletic clearance through FamilyID by Monday, July 22nd:

Print this two-page form and take it with you to your physical. All students will eventually need to purchase an ASB card and pay for transportation, but you can wait to do this during Gahr High School registration.
605 ALL-STAR BAND – ROSE PARADE INFORMATION
Gahr will be marching in the 2025 Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade as part of the “605 All-Star Band.” This is a huge honor only reserved for the top bands – and you’ll be performing on the world’s largest stage to over 50 million viewers! This opportunity is open to current members of the band and color guard, incoming freshmen, and recently graduated alumni who are able to make all the rehearsals. We will be going through more detailed information and answer any questions this week at the workshops.
ACTION: Please make sure you fill out the “605 All Star Band Member Information” form. This will also allow any donations through Snap Raise to be applied to your account.
