OUR 1ST FIELD SHOW COMPETITION IS THIS SATURDAY 10/7! THE LAST DONATION OF $150 IS DUE THIS FRIDAY. PLEASE READ ALL THE INFO AND ITINERARIES BELOW CAREFULLY.
STUDENTS: Great improvement this past week and congratulations on finishing the first movement of our field show production! We still have a lot of work as we continue preparing for Saturday’s competition, but we’re on the right track! Keep reviewing and do a run-through every day. Special kudos to all the students who have been practicing before school, at break and lunch, and after school. Make sure you’re staying hydrated, eat throughout the day, and continue to review and practice.
PARENTS: Thank you to all the parents who helped this week with the football game concessions, props, and lunch! We have a Gahr Invitational Field Show Meeting this Wednesday 10/4 at 7:00PM in Room 509! After the meeting, family and friends are welcome to watch the last 30 minutes of rehearsal in the stadium to see our progress on the field show up to this point. We need your help this Friday at our Home Football Game and on Saturday at the Field Show Competition. Please click here to sign up!
The Final Donation of $150 is due this Friday, October 6th. We accept checks made payable to “Gahr Band Boosters,” cash, or you can pay online with a credit card. It is critical that all donations are turned in on time. We cannot pay our instructional staff, purchase materials for props, or register for competitions without your contribution. ALL COLOR GUARD MEMBERS MUST BE CAUGHT UP WITH DONATIONS TO RECEIVE THEIR COSTUME. Please communicate with Mr. Loney or Mr. Miller if you have any issues. Remember, you can still sell ads in the Gahr Invitational Field Show program until this Friday, October 6th and earn 90% of the profit towards your student account.
FIELD SHOW PROGRAM ADS DEADLINE — THE DEADLINE TO GET AN AD IN THE FIELD SHOW PROGRAM IS THIS FRIDAY, OCTOBER 6TH. Advertise in our event program for the Gahr Invitational Field Tournament, held on Saturday, November 4, 2023! THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST INDIVIDUAL STUDENT FUNDRAISER OF THE ENTIRE YEAR. The deadline for all advertisements is THIS FRIDAY 10/6. We cannot accept late ads once the program is sent to the printer. Click here to download the form. Many local businesses are looking for ways to advertise to the community. This is also a great opportunity to put a "shout-out" for your son/daughter in the program! Best of all, students earn 90% of profit from program ads! You can now also purchase a program ad through our website. Just make sure you email the ad to Mr. Loney at darren.loney@abcusd.us.
SENIOR PARENTS — There are a number of things the boosters do to celebrate the seniors and to show appreciation for all that they’ve accomplished. We have a tradition of creating a picture spread on the middle pages of the Gahr Invitational Field Show Program that will show their baby pictures. SOUTH COAST INVITATIONAL THIS SATURDAY!
This Saturday 10/7 is our first competition at the South Coast Invitational! CALL TIME IS 11:00AM AT GAHR HIGH SCHOOL FOR REHEARSAL. Band and percussion students will be in FULL UNIFORM - bring your black sleeveless compression top, black compression shorts, long black socks, and black marching shoes. Admission is $10.00 per person, students w/ ID are $5.00, and children 5 and under are free. All spectators must buy a wristband for admission at every competition, even if you are helping with props or equipment. Student performers are always free.

REDUCED PRICE HOMECOMING TICKET 10/4 – If you are planning to go to the Homecoming Dance on 10/20, band and color guard students can get a reduced price ticket for $25 at the finance window this Wednesday 10/4 right after school. This is a special deal from ASB because band and guard students are late to the beginning of the dance since we are performing at the Homecoming game. This is the only day/time you can get the reduced price.
STUDENT SPONSORSHIP LETTER — The Student Sponsorship Letter is a great way to raise money for marching band, Winter Drumline, and Winter Guard! 100% of the money sponsorships goes directly to your student account. GAHR HS IN THE 2025 ROSE PARADE – We are excited to announce that Gahr High School will be a part of the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade in 2025!! This is a huge honor only reserved for the top bands from all over the world. Artesia, Cerritos, and Gahr partnered together and auditioned with several other local schools to form the "605 All-Star Band,” and will perform in the Rose Parade on January 1, 2025. Congratulations to all the students, parents, and instructors that made this possible!
