WE HAVE A BIG WEEK AHEAD WITH a FIELD SHOW COMMITTEE MEETING WEDNESDAY AT 6:30PM, A HOME FOOTBALL GAME ON FRIDAY, AND A REHEARSAL AND FUNDRIVE CLOTHING DONATION DROP-OFF ON SATURDAY. PLEASE NOTE THAT DUE TO TUESDAY’S “BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT” AND MINIMUM DAY SCHEDULE, THE ENTIRE BAND WILL HAVE REHEARSAL ON TUESDAY FROM 2-5PM.
Good progress this past week and thank you for your effort pushing through the heat yesterday. A huge thank you to all the incredible parents who cleaned out the band storage container, continued building props, and served lunch!! PARENTS: No sewing or props this coming Saturday. We are still working on getting the correct color fringe fabric, and we’re actually ahead of schedule on the props! We still need help collecting clothing donations this Saturday and with lunch donations and serving lunch. Please use the sign ups below:
This Tuesday 9/14 is “Back to School Night” online at 6:20PM. We will have a full ensemble rehearsal from 2-5PM on the practice field (including battery). This is a minimum day schedule, so make sure you bring lunch to eat after 6th period dismisses 1:05PM. BATTERY: This Tuesday rehearsal from 2-5PM is in place of your normal Wednesday night practice.
Please join us this Wednesday, September 15th for our Kick-Off Field Show Committee Meeting in the Band Room! We’re still on track to host the Gahr Invitational Field Tournament with 30 bands registered. We need all hands on deck to make this a successful event!!
For this Friday’s football game, students will once again wear their 2021 field show shirt, jeans, and athletic shoes (color guard please wear black leggings and black athletic shoes). After this week, ALL WINDS & PERCUSSIONISTS will need long, black socks, a black, sleeveless compression shirt, and black compression shorts. This will be worn underneath your marching band uniform. You can save money by getting a multi-pack or by getting generic brands. They usually have both men’s and women’s styles. Here are a few example links:
Our FUNDrive clothing donation event is this Saturday, September 18th!! Clean out your closets and help raise money for the program! WE ARE ASKING FOR EACH FAMILY TO PLEASE DONATE AT LEAST THREE (3) KITCHEN-SIZED TRASH BAGS OF CLOTHING/BEDDING. We will be raffling off a $40 Amazon gift card!
Unfortunately, we’ve been told that the district is not currently allowing concessions for any events. This is a huge revenue source for us, especially for the upcoming Gahr Invitational Field Tournament. That means that as of right now, we cannot run concessions at Friday’s home football game. We will update you if there are any changes.

FUNDRIVE CLOTHING DONATION EVENT — Clean out your closets and win a $40 Amazon Gift Card! We’re collecting men’s, women’s, and children’s clothes, shoes, coats, scarves, ties, belts, bedding, comforters, blankets, towels, linens, pillows, and more! Place donated items into 13-gallon kitchen trash bags. All items must be clean and in sellable condition. We’re asking each family to donate a minimum of three (3) bags.
DROP-OFF: Please drop off bags at Gahr High School this Saturday, September 18th from 9AM-5PM.
BONUS: We’re raffling off a $40 Amazon gift card! Each student who donates three full bags will receive one (1) raffle ticket. If you donate five full trash bags you’ll receive two (2) raffle tickets!

2ND DONATION PAST DUE — The 2nd donation of $125 was due Friday, September 3rd. At this point, your student should owe $250 or less in donations. Checks are made payable to "Gahr Band Boosters." If you are making a cash payment, please get a receipt from Mr. Loney before turning it into the drop box. You can also make a payment online here. We cannot pay our instructional staff or for field show competitions without your donation. Please communicate with Mr. Loney if you have any issues with your financial obligation. Thank you.

ATHLETIC CLEARANCE — Athletic clearance is PAST DUE. All students in the band and color guard must complete this to continue to be eligible to be part of the marching band program. Here are the steps:
STEP 1 - Get a physical exam ASAP. You need to bring a print out of Gahr’s Physical Evaluation Form for the doctor to fill out. It is highly recommend to use a walk-in clinic instead of scheduling this with your primary care physician. If you are still looking for a walk-in clinic, this one is available for $30 cash.

MARCHING BAND & GUARD ORDER FORM PAST DUE — There are several required items you will need to be in the marching band. Many of these items should be a one-time purchase that can be reused year after year. If you are in the winds or percussion sections, you will need a Gahr Marching Gladiators Hoodie, a Band Polo Shirt, and Black Drillmasters Marching Shoes. If you are in the color guard section, you will need ALL of the items listed on the color guard order form. All order forms & money were due August 10th.
